It is my privilege to welcome you to the 2026–2027 school year at Cedar Grove Elementary! As I begin my third year as principal, I am energized by the momentum we've built and excited for the journey ahead. This year, we continue our mission to transform our school culture and raise the bar for academic achievement—with every student at the center of that vision.

We are exhilarated to announce that Cedar Grove has earned a "B" school grade—marking the first time our school has achieved a "B" in 18 years! This monumental accomplishment reflects the dedication of our students, staff, and families—and signals a bright future for our school. Our work is far from over, but we are on the right path and committed to continued growth and excellence.

A vital part of our transformation is our Leader in Me program, which empowers students from Pre-K through 5th grade to build leadership, responsibility, and life-ready skills. Each day, students learn and practice the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People:

Habit 1: Be Proactive – Take responsibility
Habit 2: Begin with the End in Mind – Set goals
Habit 3: Put First Things First – Prioritize
Habit 4: Think Win/Win – Seek mutual benefit
Habit 5: Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood – Listen before you speak
Habit 6: Synergize – Work together
Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw – Take care of yourself

These habits are more than just lessons—they are shaping our students into confident, respectful, and capable leaders both inside and outside the classroom.

At Cedar Grove, we are focused on creating a positive, engaging environment where learning is celebrated, progress is expected, and relationships are strong. You'll see students actively involved in their learning, staff committed to excellence, and a community working together to create lasting change. We are Growing Greatness at the Grove, and it shows—in the smiles of our students, the energy in our classrooms, and the pride we feel as a school family.

To our students: believe in yourselves, take the lead, and never stop growing.
To our families: thank you for your continued support—your partnership makes all the difference. I encourage you to stay involved and join us as we shape the future of Cedar Grove together.

This is our year to shine. Let's keep the momentum going and make 2025–2026 our best year yet!

With gratitude,
Crystal Boyette
